The foundation of Audiovisual Industry Promotion Spa reflects a determination to promote the Italian film and audiovisual industry in Italy and around the world.

Audiovisual Industry Promotion Spa has been founded by two high profile Italian companies: Cinecittà Holding Spa and Fiera Milano Spa. The former is a point of reference and service centre for Italian cinema, charged with supporting it on the world stage. The latter is Italy's leading provider of commercial exhibition services, having successfully managed the Milan Exhibition Centre since 1920.

There are two sides to Audiovisual Industry Promotion Spa - its two operational divisions: FilmItalia and Mifed.

FilmItalia, based in Rome, is responsible for promoting Italian audiovisual production in both the Italian market and abroad.
Mifed, based in Milan, is one of the world's leading film and multimedia markets, and will shortly be opening up to new technologies and integrated systems for communications and the audiovisual media.

Audiovisual Industry Promotion Spa has set itself a major, twofold objective : to provide the back up that the Italian film and audiovisual industry needs to achieve sustained growth and, at the same time, to serve as a meeting point for the institutions . To achieve these objectives, Audiovisual Industry Promotion Spa will stress the cultural dimension of the cinema as a means of enhancing the market and guaranteeing the maximum momentum for the Italian film and audiovisual industry around the world.
