71 st Mifed , in partnership with EXPOcts (organizer of BIT, International Tourism Exchange), is pleased to present Location & Connection, a Mifed specialized area, dedicated to International Film Commissions, but most of all a new opportunity for contacts and business for everyone involved in the world of cinema and audiovisual production.

Why Location & Connection ?

The world of cinema, audiovisual production, from pre-production through production to post-production covers a very wide field, from cinema to television to documentaries and advertising.

This field in turn involves a wide variety of related interests - Film Commissions, Film Institutes, Film Funds, Location and Production Managers, territorial marketing for tourism, to quote but a few.

Interests which have few opportunities of meeting face to face at an international level. Of special interest will be the participation of Eastern European and Scandinavian countries, as well as many other EEC members.

Considering the fact that this field produces real income, public administrations are becoming increasingly aware that audiovisual production can be a decisive element of financial growth, as well as promoting industry, tourism and culture.

Location & Connection will also be a crossroads, where events, conferences and workshops will enable professionals to meet, discuss, and exchange views and experiences.

Where will Location & Connection be?

Location & Connection will be in a special 700 square metres area. As Mifed and IBTS , professional expo of global cutting-edge communication technology, occur in the same dates, the visitor will therefore have the opportunity to travel through the entire range of production in worldwide communication.

Location & Connection will be open, at no extra charge, to exhibitors and visitors of both markets, by invitation to specific professional categories, and with an entrance fee to the public.

Who will the Location & Connection Exhibitors be ?

We forecast around 40 exhibitors, namely Film Commissions, both Italian and international, Film Institutes, Film Funds and related services.

Who will visit Location & Connection?

We forecast 3.000 visitors - directors and directors of photography, production managers, location managers, art directors and set designers, creative directors and advertising producers.
